COURSES

OXFORD

OADF is proud to provide workshops at Oxford University's newly established Apple Authorised Training Centre (AATCe) based at the Oxford University Computing Services. For details of our upcoming workshops at the AATCe, please see below.

OADF has also begun to provide short courses in documentary film St. Clare's Oxford, details of which are below.

OADF provides all materials, including cameras and computers, for its participants. Our tutors are all filmmakers, and many have academic posts as well. We provide training for beginners and amateurs to be used in the profession of filmmaking, as well as for personal and research purposes. Our aim is to make digital media a tool for the individual and give our participants the confidence to use it for their own needs.

The cameras we use are all semi-professional digital cameras, providing broadcast quality sound and visuals. The editing software we use is either Final Cut Pro or Final Cut Express. All participants leave with a DVD of material they shot and a reference CD with all the materials they used on the course. They also receive an OADF certificate of completion. Our short courses are 5 days, 9 am to 5 pm, and longer courses are 10, 12, or 15 days. We invite all participants to complete a feedback form so our format remains relevant to the changing needs of staff, students, and independent filmmakers.
